Artist Talk-12.3.12
So on the same day we was given are groups, we also had a Artist talk by John Plowman.
I feel the talk was an excellent induction to Unit X as it was good to hear a curator talk about the different projects he has been apart of most where site specific or made to fit a certain building or area.
It really brought to light the relationship between the work and the area its shown and the impact it can have on the work.
He showed a number of his projects and the things he had been apart of and talked very passionately about what it his he does. The one thing he said that really stuck in my mind was "When i walk into a space i begin to think, is it suitable for work or an exhibition the outside a white cube context"
i think this particularly stood out to me because sometimes I too find myself doing this which, i think will help me during Unit X.
